Notably, Tesla’s more affordable Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV, produced at the Shanghai plant, maintain unchanged delivery dates of 2-6 weeks.

Globally, the Model S and Model X constituted a small fraction of Tesla’s deliveries in the fourth quarter, totaling 22,969 units or approximately 5 percent of the company’s global deliveries of 484,507 units.

The current Model S and Model X available in China are the 2020 releases, imported in late February 2023, initially priced at RMB 789,900 and RMB 879,900, respectively. On May 5, 2023, Tesla raised the prices of all versions by RMB 19,000, but later implemented a 20 percent price reduction on September 1.

Despite the global success of the Cybertruck, with deliveries starting on November 30, 2023, in the United States, it is set to debut in China in late January. Eight Cybertrucks will be showcased in cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Chongqing, followed by a nationwide tour featuring all Tesla models – Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y.
