Shaoqing Ren, Nio‘s vice president of smart driving research and development, announced the commencement of the recruitment process, emphasizing that NOP+ will soon be accessible to all vehicle owners.

Ren highlighted the success of the previous NOP+ testing phase, which saw a significant portion of testers utilizing the feature, particularly during the Chinese New Year holiday period.

Currently, NOP+ boasts coverage of 1.08 million kilometers of road miles, including extensive urban road coverage.

In a separate announcement, Harry Wong, Nio’s head of smart driving products and experiences, outlined the criteria for potential candidates interested in participating in the upcoming testing phase. Preference will be given to applicants with vehicles equipped with the Banyan system, substantial NOP+ usage, and a history of providing feedback.

Wong emphasized that NOP+ remains an assisted driving function, underscoring the importance of driver responsibility for safety.

Participants in the testing program will also gain access to NOMI GPT’s experiential features, with Nio recently initiating recruitment for the next generation of large model-based NOMI GPT.

In addition to regular NOP+ road validation, Nio is exploring an Unlimited Mode designed to extend assisted driving capabilities to all roads, with the first batch of pioneer users already recruited for this feature.

Applications for NOP+ pioneer testers are open until March 25, offering enthusiasts an opportunity to contribute to the refinement of Nio’s advanced driving technology.
