In a recent development, Nio Power, the energy arm of Nio, has collaborated with Geely Automobile Holdings to enable cross-compatibility of charging networks. This partnership, announced by the electric vehicle (EV) giant today, allows Geely-branded vehicles such as Geely Galaxy and Geometry series, along with other brands under the Geely Holding umbrella, including Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Polestar, and Smart, to seamlessly utilize Nio’s charging infrastructure through their respective apps’ charging maps.

Owners of these vehicles will gain real-time access to vital information such as location, pricing, availability, and operational guidelines of Nio’s charging stations via their apps. Furthermore, they can efficiently execute charging, payment, and other relevant operations.

The integration of Geely-built charging stations into Nio’s system is slated to occur next, as stated by Nio. This collaboration further extends from a previously signed strategic cooperation agreement between Nio and Geely Holding on battery swap services, signifying a concerted effort to enhance the accessibility and user experience within the EV ecosystem.

Nio’s commitment to the battery swap model and its extensive charging network, comprising 2,391 battery swap stations, 2,186 supercharging stations, and 1,551 destination charging stations across China, reinforces its position as a leading advocate for EV infrastructure development. Additionally, Nio’s charging map facilitates access to over a million third-party charging stations, further bolstering its comprehensive charging ecosystem.
