BYD Introduces e-Platform 3.0 Evo and Sea Lion 07 EV: Pricing, Specs, and Features.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) unveils its latest advancements in electric vehicle technology with the launch of the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and the debut of the Sea Lion 07 EV. The e-Platform 3.0 Evo represents a significant upgrade in integration and performance, promising a stronger powertrain and enhanced charging capabilities.
At the heart of the e-Platform 3.0 Evo lies a cutting-edge 12-in-1 electric drive system, a notable improvement over its predecessor’s 8-in-1 configuration. This advanced platform supports motors spinning at speeds up to 23,000 rpm, setting new benchmarks in the industry.
The star of the unveiling is the Sea Lion 07 EV, the first model built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo. Positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y, the Sea Lion 07 EV offers impressive features at a starting price of RMB 189,800 ($26,270). Production is already underway at BYD’s facility in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, with deliveries slated to commence this month.
The Sea Lion 07 EV embodies BYD’s vision for its Ocean-array SUV model line, drawing inspiration from the Ocean X concept. Boasting dimensions of 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, the Sea Lion 07 EV commands attention on the road.
Available in four configurations, including three single-motor rear-wheel-drive options and one dual-motor four-wheel-drive variant, the Sea Lion 07 EV caters to diverse preferences. With prices ranging from RMB 189,800 to RMB 239,800, customers can choose the model that best suits their needs and budget.
Performance-wise, the Sea Lion 07 EV delivers exhilarating acceleration and impressive range across all variants. From the entry-level model’s 170 kW electric motor to the top-tier dual-motor setup boasting 390 kW, each configuration promises a thrilling driving experience.
Charging convenience is another highlight, with all variants capable of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 25 minutes. In extreme cold conditions, charging times can be reduced by up to 40 percent, ensuring uninterrupted mobility even in challenging environments.
Equipped with advanced features such as the DiLink 100 cockpit system, DiPilot 100 driver assistance system, and iTAC intelligent torque control system, the Sea Lion 07 EV offers a seamless blend of performance, safety, and comfort.
To sweeten the deal, BYD is offering attractive incentives for early adopters, including a 0 percent down payment option, trade-in subsidies of up to RMB 16,000, and a complimentary 7-kW home charging post with installation.
