BYD Launches Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i with Fifth-Gen Dual Mode Technology.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has officially introduced the Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i hybrid sedans, showcasing the innovative fifth-generation Dual Mode (DM) technology unveiled at the 2024 Beijing auto show.
These models mark BYD’s pioneering step into next-generation hybrid technology, boasting enhanced fuel efficiency. The launch event, held in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, saw the debut of these two models, representing the Dynasty and Ocean series respectively.
Available in five variants each, both the Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i offer a wide price range, from RMB 99,800 to RMB 139,800.
The Qin L DM-i, measuring 4,830 mm in length and featuring a wheelbase of 2,790 mm, comes in two variants with a battery range of 80 kilometers and three variants with a range of 120 kilometers. With engine thermal efficiency reaching 46.06 percent, it achieves remarkable fuel consumption as low as 2.9 liters per 100 kilometers.
Powered by a 1.5 L displacement engine, the Qin L DM-i exhibits impressive acceleration, ranging from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 to 7.9 seconds across its variants.
Similarly, the Seal 06 DM-i, sharing dimensions with the Qin L DM-i, offers five variants with identical pricing and performance attributes.
These fifth-gen DM technology models signify BYD’s commitment to environmentally friendly transportation solutions. Their anticipated lower fuel consumption and appealing design tailored to younger demographics are poised to capture a significant market share.
With expectations of over 20 percent growth in full-year sales for 2024, surpassing 3.63 million vehicles, BYD’s advancements in hybrid technology demonstrate its continuous pursuit of automotive excellence.
